Welcome to St. Aidan's

Welcome to our website. We hope you will use it to keep up with Parish news, upcoming events and service times and as a general source of information about our parish community.

Music is played at both the 9.15 a.m. and the 11 a.m. masses

Music has long been an integral part of the liturgical rites of the Catholic Church - liturgical music enriches and enhances all aspects of our celebrations.

At St. Aidan's our aim is to involve as many musicians who would like to play and we especially encourage young musicians to join us.

We have a group of musicians that plays at the 9.15 a.m. Sunday mass. We have members playing a variety of instruments - keyboard, guitar, flute, clarinet and violin but we are always very keen to welcome new members on any instrument, of any standard, and of any age.

The group practises monthly in the parish room.

As well as the 9.15 Sunday mass, the group also provide the music for the celebrations of Confirmation and First Communion and usually plays at the evening mass on Maundy Thursday.

The hymns at the 11 o'clock mass are played on the organ. If you are a proficient pianist (Grade 7/8) or have experience in playing a church organ, and are interested in being a part of the organist rota, please contact Alison Jackson
